What we find

Most attics we open look like this.

Patchy in one spot, bare in the next, and well short of R-50. We measure what is actually up there before we price anything.

Attic floor with patchy insulation, yellow batt and white blown-in laid unevenly between the joists, with flexible duct and wiring running through it.
Attic with batt insulation sagging away from the framing, gaps along the edges and bare deck showing through underneath.
What we usually findTwo attics, two houses. We are in one like this most weeks.
Attic after a blown-in top-up, even insulation covering the floor and running away between the trusses.
What it looks like finishedA third house. Same job, and this is what we hand back.

What it costs.

An attic top-up is the least expensive insulation work we do, and the rebates take a real bite out of that. You get a firm written price before we start, and it is the number on the invoice.

How it works

Three steps. No runaround.

  1. Book your building assessment.

We come out, measure everything, and check your rebate eligibility. You keep a written checklist either way.

  2. We give you a firm price on site.

Before we leave, you have the number. The price we hand you is the price on the invoice. No surprises.

  3. We show up on schedule.

We do the job right, and we have never been the reason a job ran late.

Straight talk

When not to hire us.

Sometimes the answer is do not bother yet. If your attic already measures close to R-50, topping it up will not pay you back and we will say so. If the real problem is the venting, we would rather fix that than bury it under new insulation. And if the roof is near the end of its life, wait — new insulation goes in after the roof, not before, or you pay for it twice. We measure first and tell you which one you are. That is the whole point of the building assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What does an attic insulation top-up include?
We add blown-in on top of what is already there and bring the attic up to R-50, the target for this climate. If the old insulation is dry and in good shape we top right over it. We only pull it out when it is wet, contaminated, or there is a problem underneath.
Are there rebates for an attic top-up?
Often, yes. Attic top-ups qualify for CleanBC and FortisBC rebates. One service is typically about $1,200 back, and insulation upgrades pay up to $5,500 as the scope grows. We are a certified insulation contractor, so we register the project and find every dollar you qualify for during the assessment, before any work starts. The rebate report is yours to keep no matter who does the work.
Do you check the attic ventilation too?
Yes, every time, before we add anything. Older homes often have blocked vents or missing baffles. Pile new insulation on top of a venting problem and you can trap moisture and grow mould. We check the venting and correct it first, then we insulate. It is part of the job, not an extra.
When do I need spray foam instead of blown-in?
Most attics do not. Blown-in to R-50 is the right call for a standard vented attic. The building assessment measures what is up there and tells you which one your attic actually needs. We will not sell you foam you do not need.
