What insulation rebates are available in BC
Two programs pay BC homeowners to insulate. Here is what each one does, in plain words.
FortisBC pays rebates when you upgrade insulation in your home. Attics, crawlspaces, walls, and more. The amount depends on the area and how much you improve it. The current list is on the FortisBC rebates page.
CleanBC Better Homes is the provincial program. It adds rebates on top of what your utility pays. It runs through a registered contractor and a home energy assessment. The full rules are on the CleanBC Better Homes site.
If your home is on BC Hydro, there are electric heating and insulation rebates too. They are listed on the BC Hydro rebates page.
You do not need us to tell you these exist. The hard part is knowing which ones your home qualifies for and stacking them right. That is what the assessment is for, and it is the same first step whether you want an attic top-up or a full spray foam job.
How much you can get back
Most insulation rebates run about $1,200 per service. Homeowners who do more than one area stack about $5,500 on average.
FortisBC pays per service. Doing two or more areas in one visit triggers a bonus rebate on top. So an attic top-up paired with a crawlspace is worth more than either one alone.
Every number here is an average. Your real number is personal. It comes from the written report we hand you on site, before any work starts.
A real Kelowna rebate, captured
In January 2026 we topped up a Kelowna attic. The blown-in insulation went from R-20 up to R-50. We captured $1,200 in rebates for the homeowner.
Real job. Real number. Real money back in their pocket. That is the report this page is about.
Why most homeowners miss the money
The rebate money is real. Most people still miss it. The forms are a maze and most contractors leave them to you.
We do the rebate paperwork every day. We find the programs, we file the forms, and we handle the steps. You do not chase it.
When this page is not for you
We would rather point you to the right place than sell you the wrong thing.
If you only want a heat pump or furnace rebate, this is not the page. We do insulation. We will point you to the right program and let you get on with it.
If you are not planning any insulation work, the assessment still gives you a written rebate report and a contractor checklist you keep. Just know the one year workmanship warranty only comes with our work. It does not travel to another contractor's job.
Real reviews. Real credentials.
